Das Konzil von Trient (auch Tridentium genannt) wurde von der katholischen Kirche zwischen 1545 und 1563 abgehalten. Es hatte zum Ziel, den Herausforderungen der protestantischen Reformation zu begegnen und führte zu Klarstellungen in der Lehre und zu internen Reformen.
